So You Want to Have a Reading and You're Skeptic!

Good! A healthy dose of skepticism is very helpful; it keeps your intuition sharp and alert. Yes, you are intuitive, everyone is. The little voice inside that nags you all the time, or that gut feeling is intuition. Some of us pay more attention to it than others but we all posses the ability to follow our sixth sense. Intuition after all is just a quick and ready insight.

Understanding what psychic ability encompasses will help you as you look for a good reader. To that end, I would like to answer some questions I am most frequently asked about my gift.

As a psychic, am I also a mind reader? No. I wouldn't want to do that even if I could. We are all given the gift of free will and the right to our own thoughts. Nobody has the right to infringe on something so personal. Besides, it would make my life really boring. Who could I have a conversation with if I knew both sides before I started?

If you are so psychic, how come you don't win a million dollars on the lottery? Boy, I wished it worked that way. The gift is not used that way for the reader or the client.

If your psychic ability is a God given gift, how come you charge for a reading? I charge for my time, not my gift. An artist has a God given gift, but will still charge you for the time it takes to paint the picture.

Can I read for myself? No, not in the same way I can read for another person, but my gift helps guide and direct my life path and work.

Am I 100% accurate? Absolutely not! I don't know any psychic who is. And no, I don't create your future. A good psychic reading can give the seeker a glimpse at future doors of opportunity. You have, first and foremost, the gift of free will. The advantage a reading gives the seeker, is the ability the to choose the best course of events by which YOU choose a better outcome.

These are some ideas you can do to get the most out of your reading. Don't go to the reading with per-conceived notions or expectations; listen with an open heart. Trust yourself. Let your intuition lead the way. Write your questions down in an organized manner. Take notes if you want, but don't let it interfere with the flow of information. A good psychic is a good guide, not a psychiatrist. Also, remember the psychic is not God. Relax and enjoy your reading. It should be informative and helpful. And, in the end, remember you and only you can and should make the decision that affects your future.

WHO AM I

Hi my name is Ellen Doreen, and I’m a psychic medium. “Oh, ho hum,” you say. In today’s world you're probably right. No big deal, just go on the Internet or YouTube. People use a lot of fancy names and titles to describe who they are and what they do. I’m an Intuitive. I am a Spiritual Counselor. I am a Visionary. I am a Channel. I talk to Angels. I am a Psychic/Medium, but basically they are saying the same thing. You get the idea. But in my lifetime, coming up so many years ago, this is NOT what you aspired to be. It made you different. It made you scary.

I was always different much to the consternation and displeasure of my Mother and sister. I am empathic. I knew things. I heard things. I would watch the pictures on the wall talking to each other. I would watch the flowery wallpaper, in the hallway at night, grow vines and start crawling down the wall. It was a pretty scary world I lived in. Worse, I had no language to explain it nor any teachers that could help me understand it.

I started to “predict” when I around 6 years old. Small things at first, knowing who was at the door or on the phone. Then bigger predictions about people, friends and family. When I told my Mom that my grandmother was sick and needed help, my Mom got really mad. “Nonnie,” she said, “is fine.” My Grandmother was traveling in Europe at the time. Two days later she was sent home and hospitalized with a terrible reaction to the typhoid vaccine that nearly killed her. It was then that my Mother made any acknowledgment that there was something “different” about me. Mom said, “People don’t like people who do that sort of thing, SO STOP!” Well, you can’t stop. Being a psychic is not something you try on like new shoes. If they pinch a little and cause blisters you toss them out. It is not what I put on and take off. It is who I am. It is my calling and my service. Does that sound arrogant? Yikes! It sounds that way to me. I haven’t spoken those words out loud to many people. Just very close friends and eventually family. But I have known it forever. Yes, forever! I am a teacher, a writer, a poet, a lyricist, a light bearer, and, yes, a psychic/medium.
